IEA Region 62 will award one $500 or two scholarships in the amount of $250 each, depending on number of qualified applicants.
APPLICATIONS CAN BE FOUND IN THE COUNSELING OFFICE.
Criteria are as follows:
The applicant shall be the child or stepchild of an IEA member.
The applicant shall be a graduating high school senior or an undergraduate college student.
The applicant cannot be the recipient of any other IEA state level sponsored scholarship.
The applicant must have a CUMULATIVE 3.25 grade point average on a 4.00 scale.
The applicant must be accepted to a college and have indicated a major in the field of education. For high school seniors, a copy of the college acceptance letter stating an education related major must accompany the application.
The applicant must submit a completed and signed application form along with an official transcript / electronic transcript (if sent directly from the school).
The applicant must submit a 300-350 word double spaced essay stating his vision of education in the future. The essay should include why the applicant has chosen to pursue a career in education, his vision of education in the future, and how he can make an impact on education.
The applicant must submit three letters of reference with at least one being from an educator.
Application forms and supporting documents must be postmarked by May 3, 2017. Mail these items to:
