CREATING ENTREPRENEURIAL OPPORTUNITIES

 

Offered through Lincoln Community High School, CEO acquaints students with the knowledge and skills necessary to own and operate their own businesses. CEO is not a typical classroom setting, but a live experience into the business world. Students will travel to a vareity of businesses and learn from business leaders in the area about how they have found success. Topics from several fields typically form the course content: economics, marketing principles, human relations and psychology, business and labor law, legal rights and responsibilities of ownership, business and financial planning, finance and accounting, and communication. Topics typically covered in Business Management will also be included. During the duration of the course, the students will begin developing a class business and launch to the public mid-year. By the second half of the course, the students will have the opportunity to start their own business from the floor up and use the skills they have learned along the way. At the end of the year, students will have the opportunity to make revenue on their business concepts during an open to the public showcase. This is a class like no other!
