FCI Agriculture Scholarship Application Academic Verification Form (submitted by a school official)
Since 2005, FCI has awarded scholarships to college-bound high school seniors who are pursuing agriculture-related curriculum and careers. In 2017, Farm Credit Illinois will present $2,000 Agriculture Scholarships to 24 high school seniors. Two of the applicants will be designated as Urban Agriculture Scholars.
“Farm Credit is proud to invest in young people who have a passion for agriculture. We need the brightest of today’s youth to become tomorrow’s agricultural leaders,” says Tom Tracy, Farm Credit Illinois President & C.E.O. “The Agriculture Scholarship program promotes the positive opportunities of exploring careers in the agriculture industry – including production agriculture.” Scholarship selection is based upon a combination of academic achievement, participation and leadership in school and community organizations, and the applicant’s commitment level to an agricultural career.
Eligible scholarship applicants must be high school seniors planning to enroll in a college or university during the 2017 fall semester and pursue an agriculture-related academic major or career. Recipients will receive a $1,000 credit on their college student account in the fall and an additional $1,000 will be applied in the fall 2019 semester. Applicants must reside in one of the 60 central or southern Illinois counties served by Farm Credit Illinois.
