Karen Hill Memorial Scholarship. The Northern Illinois Antique Dealers Association (NIADA) would like to announce two scholarship for $1000.00 dollars for students in history, art, design,historic preservation, or a related field.

Eligibility: Students from Illinois who are graduating high school seniors enrolled in a two year or a four year institution of higher learning or students currently enrolled in a two year or four year institution at either the undergraduate or graduate level.

Requirements:

1. Three letters of recommendation, at least one from a teacher or professor outlining your potential in your field of study.

2. A copy of your high school or college transcript.

3. A paragraph listing personal accomplishments, service organizations to which you belong, work experience, and other relevant information which the selection committee might find useful.

4. An essay of 500-1000 words (see below).

5. Application to be returned to the selection committee by March 31, 1016.

Essay: Submit an essay of 500-1000 words answering the following questions: Of the following events in Illinois history at which would you like to have been present? Your answer should be based on the event's importance in shaping the future of Illinois and the nation.

1. One of the Lincoln-Douglas debates

2. The Pullman strikes

3. The 1968 Democratic convention in Chicago

4. The Blawkhawk War

5. The Marquette and Joliet expedition down the Mississippi in 1637

The Colombia Exposition in Chicago in 1892-1893
