Air Force Aid Society Grants, Scholarships and Loans
Open Now Deadline: March 18, 2016
The Air Force Aid Society offers need-based grants ranging from $500 to $4,000 through the General Henry H. Arnold Education Grant Program. The program, which is the gateway to all of the Society’s educational assistance programs, is open to dependent children of active duty, retired and deceased U.S. Air Force members; and spouses of active duty and deceased members. Applicants must plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent.
General Arnold Education Grant Program applicants are also reviewed for eligibility under the Society’s Merit Scholarship Program. This program awards at least ten $5,000 scholarships to incoming college freshmen with top grade point averages.
Applicants from the Arnold Grant Program may also apply for an interest-free Supplemental Education Loan up to $1,000. Repayment is by allotment directly from sponsoring member’s military/retired pay or bank account over a 10-month period.
Detailed information on all the Society’s programs and online application can be found at http://www.afas.org/education-grants.
