Hearst Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship program is in two parts, the U.S. Senate Youth Program (USSYP) in Washington D.C. and the Hearst Scholarship. Two students will be selected from Illinois to participate in the 50th Annual USSYP which is an all expense paid week in Washington D.C.. After participation, the delegates will receive a $5,000 scholarship. Eligibility Requirements: An applicant must (1) be a junior or senior in high school, (2) currently be serving in an elected or selected capacity in student government or a related organization, (3) be planning on taking government courses in college (4) be a permanent resident of the United States, (5) be currently enrolled in a public or private secondary school in Illinois and (6) have at least one parent or guardian who is a legal resident of Illinois.
