What is the Cargill Global Scholars Program?
The Cargill Global Scholars Program is a distinctive scholarship opportunity that provides financial support in addition to leadership development opportunities through seminars, networking events, and a mentorship program.
There are several key reasons to be a part of the Cargill Global Scholars Program.
Applicant eligibility will be determined based on meeting the required criteria.
Citizen or permanent resident of the United States
Enrollment in one of the partner universities which include:
Amherst College
Cornell University
Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University
Iowa State University
Kansas State University
Missouri University of Science & Technology
Ohio State University
Pennsylvania State University
Purdue University
Stanford University
Texas A & M University, College Station
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
University of Minnesota
University of Nebraska, Lincoln
University of North Dakota
First or second year undergraduate student
Demonstrate high academic performance
Demonstrate leadership potential
Special consideration will be given to applicants who can also demonstrate:
Financial Need
Affiliation with one of the following underrepresented groups; Female, Native American, Asian or Pacific Islander, Black, Hispanic, Student with Disabilities , First Generation College Student, Veteran.
Specialization in one of the following fields:
Agriculture Related Field
Business
Computer Science
Economics
Engineering
Food Science
International Relations
Political Science
Public Policy
* International students who are studying in the U.S. at a partner university and who do not hold permanent residency are not eligible to apply.
Ten scholarships will be awarded in the 2015-2016 academic year.

Applications must be submitted in full on March 1, 2016 by 11:59 PM ET.
Interviews will be scheduled with all semi-finalists May 2016.
Award winners will be announced late May to early June 2016.
